About The Speaker...
Having been an English teacher for nearly 20 years, I have recently become an author in the field of Film and Television.
My latest book, The Carry On Girls, published by The History Press looks at the context of Women in Comedy from the famous franchise.
The focus of my talks looks at gender roles within Film and Television and I dive deeper into the social history of the subject matter. Whether you are looking for an inspirational talk about women in society and female comedians or a deeper dive into women in Literature, my skills as firstly a teacher and secondly as a historian will provide entertaining and insightful talks.
I also run workshops for creative writing with a focus on comedy.
About Their Talks...
My talks involve a screen and projector where I can show visual images and clips.
For a more impersonal approach, I sometimes offer talks with my husband interviewing me to the audience.
Talks can also be centred around themed topics; including Mental Health, Women in Film and Television, Literature based talks.
