About The Speaker...
My professional career was mainly in the City of London. In 1999 I was granted my ‘Freedom’ and appointed a Freeman. In addition, for 34 years I served in the Royal Corps of Signals, Territorial Army, being awarded the Territorial Decoration (TD)..
I have been a public speaker for almost 20 years, raising funds for charities in Myanmar (Burma), India, Nepal and elsewhere, and also lecturing on cruise ships for Fred Olsen and P & O Cruises. As a keen traveller I have visited almost 70 countries. I am a keen military historian and have visited the battlefields of the Crimean War, the American Civil War, The Russian Eastern Front and the French Maginot Line defences.
With my interest in heritage transport, I am a member of several UK heritage railways and I am also the Vice Chairman of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway Society. Finally I am President of a local group for the blind and partially sighted.
About Their Talks...
My talks are generally suited to male, female or mixed audiences and are usually timed for 45-60 minutes. I welcome questions at the end.
Using Powerpoint I can offer all my talks either in person or via Zoom if necessary, and can provide all equipment including screen or use what the venue provides. For good quality picture definition the venue should be able to be shielded from bright sunshine. Some talks can be delivered without images for visually impaired audiences.
I am happy to consider bookings anywhere in the UK or to step in at short notice.
