Nick Clyburn is a former Air Traffic Controller with over 40 years of experience in both military and civilian air traffic control. During his highly successful career, Nick rose through the ranks of the Royal Air Force to senior command before working as a senior consultant in the air traffic control industry and then as a civilian air traffic controller and manager.
Born in Devon, he left to join the Royal Air Force at sixteen as a young ‘Cold War Warrior’. His Royal Air Force career took him worldwide into operational conflicts and hostile environments. He controlled some of the busiest airspaces and control centres worldwide and then facilitated strategic thinking and policies to keep them safe.

An Expert Guide to Air Traffic Confusion
Most folks wonder what goes on around them outside the aircraft as they sit in their airline seat. Nick’s talk about air traffic control assumes the audience has little knowledge of the subject and breaks down in simple terms the structure of airspace and the function of military and civilian controllers to manage the traffic in it. Nick will also talk you through some techniques controllers use to keep the skies moving, provide some exciting and light-hearted anecdotes from his career and reassure you that you are in safe hands.

My fees include expenses based on the radius from Teignmouth as follows:
Up to 30 miles – £110;
30 miles up to 60 miles – £115;
60 miles to 90 miles – £125.
