About The Speaker...
I trained as a therapist in 2000 starting with massage and reflexology before taking a degree in Nutritional Medicine; a discipline that goes some way beyond becoming a dietician or nutritionist. Qualifying in modern homeopathy and Iridology enabled me to broaden my scope as a therapist until I finally qualified in Colonic Hydrotherapy. After closing my three clinics I wrote books on the relationship between food consumption and health. The issue is becoming more concerning and my latest book, FAST FOOD SLOW DEATH covers every aspect of the fast food industry and its impact upon health, waste, economics and climate `change.
This all sounds slightly dry and serious so my talks take a much more light-hearted stance on a serious subject.
I have experienced many careers starting with teaching English and Sports before leisure centre management, entertainment and events organisation but falling flat on my face in France and retreating tail between my legs after four miserable years in retail. It took ten years before finding my forte in therapy but my life has always been blessed with humour which has stood me in good stead. My talks are usually drizzled with humour regardless of the subject. I have been giving talks to small and large groups for over 15 years and my area is the South West.
About Their Talks...
I do not use any props at all preferring to rely on the subject and my delivery to sustain interest and surprise. My subjects include Food and Fatigue. The minefield of Food Labelling and Regulation. The erosion of nutrients in highly processed foods. Food, Farming and Land Use. The stark facts behind modern farming methods. Food Waste, Packaging and Marketing of food. The Power of the Fast Food industry and its growth across the planet. The food industry and Climate Change. CAFO’s – Concentrated Animal Feeding Stations- and the appalling life of animals farmed indoors. In my talks I begin by explaining how our energy is made and why it is essential to understand the basics of how energy production can be compromised.
My talks are around 45-50 minutes and I make every effort to engage with my audiences and encourage them to engage with me.
Fee:
My fee depends on the distance I am required to travel. £50 for local venues rising to £100 with substantial travel times but no separate travel expenses.
I do not give Virtual talks but can usually cope with short notice requests.
