Originally from Newcastle Upon Tyne, I came to south Wales as a teenager and now live in Bridgend. Joined Glamorgan Constabulary in 1969, and served in South Wales as a beat officer in Barry and Vale of Glamorgan market town of Cowbridge (yes – an authentic ‘Heartbeat’ policeman). Following that, became a Traffic policeman over the following 25 years (patrol cars and motorcycles) working across south Wales & M4 motorway. A qualified police Driving Instructor, VIP Escort & Protection driver (personally driven Duke of Edinburgh / late Princess Margaret). Police Class 1 Certificates – Advanced car driver and motorcyclist . TPAC (Tactical Pursuit & Containment), Police Federation Rep. 11 x Chief Constable’s / Court commendations. Front line experience 1980’s major public disorder events – Miners strike Nottinghamshire / Derbyshire / South Wales & events in Bristol, Birmingham, Wolverhampton & Stone Henge. On retirement was the force’s longest serving operational Traffic police officer. About my talk...
Stand alone talk of approx. 45 – 60 minutes. Hands on audience participation items and also able to provide a table top display of historic police memorabilia. Display requires a large 6 – 8 foot trestle table and close vehicle access to the venue.
Power point presentation currently NOT available.
Previous experience giving talks to ethnic groups / adult groups / children / school groups as well adults and children with learning difficulties. As such, talks are structured and presented at an appropriate audience level.

Fee: £55.00 (approx. 1 hour duration). Mileage 50p per mile return.
Venue location: South Wales, Glamorgan, Cardiff, Swansea, Vale of Glamorgan, Bridgend County Borough, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Merthyr Tydfil, Newport. Preference for daytime / a.m. / weekday talks.
